How Patch Updates Shift the Meta

We aggregate match data from the 24 hours surrounding every ranked patch drop. Below are live snapshots for the five most-impacted champions across all regions after Patch 14.8 (released 2024-11-06). Hover over any card for the full before/after breakdown.

Ahri — Mage / Assassin

Pre-14.8 win rate: 48.2% (12,451 games)  →  Post-14.8: 52.7% (+4.5 pp)

Reworked Charm (Q) now grants 15% movement speed on hit, up from 10%. Queue position shifted top → mid; average KDA rose from 2.1 to 2.8 in the first 72 hours.

Jinx — Marksman

Pre-14.8 win rate: 51.4% (18,902 games)  →  Post-14.8: 47.1% (−4.3 pp)

Flame Chompers (E) cooldown increased to 20/18/16/14/12 s. Pick rate in Diamond+ dropped from 34% to 19% within four days; support-item builds lost viability.

Ornn — Tank / Fighter

Pre-14.8 win rate: 49.8% (9,317 games)  →  Post-14.8: 50.1% (+0.3 pp)

Minimal direct changes; however, the global gold-bonus nerf on Callings (W) reduced late-game snowball. Average game length involving Ornn increased by 2.4 minutes.

Sylas — Mage / Assassin

Pre-14.8 win rate: 46.9% (14,203 games)  →  Post-14.8: 44.3% (−2.6 pp)

Abduct (R) base damage reduced by 20 points at every rank. Steal-duration window tightened to 1.5 s. Ban rate in Masters+ fell from 61% to 38%.

Thresh — Support / Tank

Pre-14.8 win rate: 50.3% (22,108 games)  →  Post-14.8: 50.5% (+0.2 pp)

No ability changes. Slight uptick driven by the removal of a previous patch's support-item buff that favored enchanters. Pick rate stable at 28% across all elos.

K'Sante — Tank / Fighter

Pre-14.8 win rate: 43.1% (11,044 games)  →  Post-14.8: 45.8% (+2.7 pp)

Counter-Block (E) now refunds 40% of health lost if the block is perfect. Top-lane win-rate recovery continues; pick rate up 6 pp in Challenger tier.

Community Intelligence

What Players Are Saying

Patchly aggregates feedback from 1.2 million active users across Reddit, Discord, and in-app surveys. Each insight card links to the raw discussion threads and our sentiment-analysis pipeline.

Ahri's Q-Speed Buff — 78% Approval

After six consecutive patch adjustments, K'Sante's community rating climbed from 2.1/5 to 3.6/5. The E-refund mechanic is cited as the turning point. 81% of 9,440 respondents expect the champion to reach "viable" status by Patch 14.10.
